BLOCS

The Bilateral Longitudinal Observations and Country Statistics (BLOCS) is a functional, public, and free dataset built from diverse sources on international economics that include information on trade, tariffs, trade flows, international investment, international agreements, institutional characteristics, and polity positions as well as general economic and financial statistics. The primary function is to consolidate observations related to bilateral trade and investment flows making it possible to investigate their relationships with international institutional change (including, but not limited to, trade agreements and tariffs). BLOCS consolidates information for 218 countries between 1948 and 2019, with 584 variables for more than 1.2 million observations.

GAPS

The Gap Analysis and Policy Solutions (GAPS) research lab looks at differences in access, opportunities, treatment, achievement, well-being, rights and motivation in education and labor. The lab primarily focuses on differences relating to sex and gender and plans to expand its analysis to other factors such as race, nationality, age, economic background and religious beliefs. With social gaps explored and analyzed, the lab proposes evidence-based interventions and policy solutions suitable to reducing or closing these gaps. The goal of the GAPS lab is to measure the impact of interventions, and create a database of interventions and measures that have been developed in relation to social gaps.

MINDS

The Mindfulness Inventory and Needs Discovery for Students (MINDS) research study, known as ‘MINDS’, examines how stress is managed in a transitioning education landscape. This study has been piloted in Germany by analyzing student survey responses in relation to their performance, and we are currently looking for participating universities and high schools in the United States to further expand our understanding. The study results would provide useful information on policies, practices, incentives, and conditions that would help benefit student performance.
